The “Ring leaders” in that open
raid to disrupt the 44th Annual General Assembly, AGM of the
Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League, CAMCCUL last June 30 have been
tracked. Awah Cletus Forbuzie, alias “A.C Risky” was detained twice by the
Gendarmes and Police respectively. This was last week, which Chronicle learnt was ordered by
security/administrative officials. Mochiggle Vaningansen, an SDF diehard had
since gone into solitude, while Judith Awondo is reportedly under surveillance.
Lele Lafrique Adolph,
North West Governor was even furious over the chaotic situation the “Risky-led”
gang was blocked from perpetrating. While addressing the population of Mezam at
the Bamenda Commercial Avenue
grandstand last Thursday July 5, 2012, the Governor was categoric: He
castigated elite who pretend by day to be agents of peace but at night are
warlords. “Let me assure you that I shall
spare no efforts to expose you as hypocrites to your administrative or
political hierarchy”.
Governor Lele
Lafrique called no name especially when he recounted how some challenges had
been registered against our peaceful coexistence, which he said, have been
masterminded by individuals or groups of person with egoistic or diabolic
intentions. What immediately came to many minds was the A.C Risky and clique
saga, to tarnish the image of AZAM hotel, ruin its proprietor and then destroy
CAMCCUL.
A.C Risky was
first interrogated at the gendarmerie station beside BMM at Up-station Bamenda.
Chronicle learnt that he was charged
for attempting to cause insecurity at AZAM hotel Bamenda on Saturday, June 30,
2012 during a CAMCCUL meeting. He and others hired some 30 motorbike riders who
blocked AZAM hotel entrance with placards to demonstrate against CAMCCUL
delegates who came in from all over the 10 Regions of the country for their 44th
general assembly (AGM).
Although A.C
Risky’s partners in crime were operating at the background, he was
conspicuously viewed with the protesting motorbike riders conducting interviews
with some journalists and abusing some CAMCCUL authorities especially the
CAMCCUL President, Shey Nfor Musa. Unfortunately for A.C Risky, the
representatives of the Ministers of Finance and Agriculture and Rural
Development including that of the North West Governor and the personal presence
of Procureur General of the North West Region, were present at the meeting body
and soul.
Seeing the
demonstration as an act of disturbance of peace in the hotel, the authorities
of AZAM hotel, Chronicle gathered,
reported A.C Risky at the gendarmerie brigade beside BMM at Up-station, Bamenda
where he was interrogated for hours.
Just as A.C
Risky was taken on bail from that gendarmerie station, Chronicle further learnt that he was again summoned at the Judicial
Police Bamenda for two charges. One of the main charges was the fact that A.C Risky
issued a bounced cheque of FCFA 16.5 million to a ‘njangi’ group. Another
charge was the fact that he was caught red-handed filming and taking
photographs of the CAMCCUL head office in Bamenda.
According to the
CAMCCUL authorities, by filming and taking photographs of a sensitive
micro-finance building like CAMCCUL, A.C Risky was ipso facto exposing that
institution’s premises to bandits. Note was taken of some credit union
societies’ recent attacks by bandits in the country and the fact that A.C Risky
had earlier taken photographs of CAMCCUL building at Nkambe for unexplained
reasons.
At press time,
A.C Risky was said to have been granted bail while pending further action.
It’s worth
noting that of recent, A.C Risky has been notorious of attacking CAMCCUL
officials. In a meeting the former governor of the region, Abakar Ahamat
convened in Bamenda over CAMCCUL crisis, A.C Risky openly attacked the CAMCCUL
President, Shey Nfor Musa before the Governor and scores of credit unionists.
He abused Shey Nfor as a ‘nonentity’ and even threatened to slap him.
In the North
West Governor’s visit to Mezam division on Thursday, July 5, 2012, he warned
some North Westerners who are using some political parties to disrespect state
authorities. It left no one indifferent that Governor Lele Lafrique Adolph was
indirectly referring to people like A.C Risky.
Even in the
June 30, 2012 CAMCCUL AGM resolutions at AZAM hotel, delegates vehemently
condemned acts of blackmail, sabotage and the divulging to the public of
CAMCCUL network’s sensitive information by some credit union officials. They
threatened that promoters of such unscrupulous acts shall be severely
sanctioned.
A.C Risky’s
recent detention at the judicial police over the weekend is the beginning of
CAMCCUL’s crackdown on its detractors; Mochiggle could be the next.
Chronicle gathered that the president of
a prominent credit union in Bamenda had promised A.C Risky huge sums of money
to enable him carry out his business should he succeed in chasing Shey Nfor
away from the helm of CAMCCUL. It’s rumoured that the said president of that
credit union is scheming to be the next CAMCCUL president in order to appoint
her husband the manager of CAMCCUL.
This is
confirmed by the fact that they have been questioning why a Francophone is
CAMCCUL Manager.
