Risks Arrest Over Murder of French Lecturer

PCC Plunged Into Another Headache of Re-Assignment
By

The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC
will have to grapple with the issue of positioning Rev. Prof Emmanuel Anyambod
within its fold. This follows a board meeting of the University
of Protestant Theology for Central Africa, UPAC relieving Anyambod as its Rector.
The decision was reached following an anomaly at the university, wherein
Chronicle gathered, Anyambod may even be brought to questioning and even
remanded in custody.
Last weekend,
Chronicle gathered that Prof Anyambod’s destitution could not have been
unconnected with the assassination of Frenchman, Eric de Putter, a lecturer of
Theology of the said UPAC varsity. The saga had since seen the arrest and
detention of Jean Bosco Nguend, Dean of the Faculty of Protestant theology and
religious sciences at UPAC. He is the second to have been probed after Rev
Father Barko Nado. Following Chronicle’s investigation, both men are allegedly
involved in the assassination of the French lecture at UPAC.
According to reports,
Eric de Putter, the Frenchman allegedly found his demise, having rejected the
thesis of pastor Barko Nado. That the Frenchman Eric de Putter was assassinated
at his residence at the UPAC Etoa-Meki campus last July 8, 2012.
The intricacies
following his death/assassination, has been what Chronicle has been hinted,
salvaged be bilateral ties between Cameroon
and France.
Reason why the nuances. And to this, there had been unbearable fiction between
the forces involved with suspects arraigned.
Chronicle gathered
that with external pressure, there had been need for redress. Reason why last
week’s board meeting. And by dint of its resolves, Rev Prof Timothy Boba
replaces Rev Prof Emmanuel Anyambod as Rector of the protestant theology of
Central African states.
Rev Prof Anyambod
therefore regains his portfolio within the Presbyterian church in Cameroon,
PCC. Anyambod, Chronicle is aware eyed the PCC Moderatorship. Accordingly, he
gave-in to Rev Prof Asana, on a diplomatic note.
With Anyambod’s
destitution, it is unclear what he will become within PCC. Chronicle gathered
that he had been the chairman of one of the strategic committees: that he could
not have been negated, given the challenges. He could have, which now becomes
mores pellucid.
Commentators have been
quick to question what would become the role of Anyambod, a man tipped as PCC
moderator after Nyansako ni-nku. Some analysts even hold that with his present
destitution, gives him the leeway to mobilize and challenger Rev Dr Festus Ambe
Asana from contesting a second 5 year mandate and reelection, when his first 5
year tenure ends next year.
Rev Prof Emmanuel
Anyambod has been flushed out from the protestant university, yet, his arrest
is still suspected. Police sources hinted Chronicle that if the Dean of the
Faculty of Protestant Theology was arrested and detained at Kondengui, the
dismissal of Anyambod does not augur well. Chronicle was told that Anyambod’s
arrest should therefore be no surprise for him, to explain the assassination of
the Frenchman.
