The decree had long been awaited,
following the last December 2011 cabinet shake-up, wherein some Secretary
Generals were upgraded to become members of government. Ngole Philip Ngwese,
for instance left as SG in the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative
Reforms, to become Minister of Forestry and Wildlife; Prof. Fru Angwafor III,
SG of Public Health had since been appointed Director of the Gaeneco-Obstetric
Hospital Yaounde. Yet, out of the seven Anglophones who served as SGs, the
number was curtailed to six, by dint of last week’s presidential decree. Paul
Tasong, who has not been long as SG in the Ministry of Economy Planning and
Territorial Development was relieved, while Felix Mbayu was the new Anglophone
entry as SG of the External Relations ministry.
