Rev Dr. Michael Fai
has taken part in a first meeting within the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC
as the National Secretary for Men’s work. This has come to put to rest,
speculations about the role formerly played by Rev Joe Set Aji-Mvo. Chronicle
gathered that though invited to take part in a meeting of the National
Committee of Men’s work, last Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Ntamulung
Church Centre in Bamenda, Aji-Mvo was conspicuously absent. His absence was
highly regretted by Ntumfor Nico Halle, National President of the Christian
Men’s Fellowship, CMF. Ntumfor exploited the conclave to announce a new
approach in the fight against corruption in Cameroon.
While
opening the one-day conclave, Ntumfor regretted the absence of Aji Mvo. He said
he expected Aji Mvo to have been there so as to create a transition for Rev
Michael Fai to pick-up.
A
source at the PCC office hinted Chronicle
that CMF had been opting for Aji Mvo’s exit. Accordingly, he had become a
liability to the growth of the ministry that was under him. Chronicle was told that the PCC
Moderator, Rev Dr. Festus Asana, had to be convinced to replace him with Dr.
Michael Fai, which was done recently.
But
Roseline Obah, a communication officer at the Ntamulung church centre told Chronicle that Aji Mvo was not actually sacked.
She said he was due retirement, which had been overdued. Obah opined that his
presence at last Saturday’s meeting was therefore not necessary, given that he
was already serving his retirement and had little to do with his former
service. Her position sharply contradicted that of Rev Prof Emmanuel Anyambod,
who averred the need for Aji Mvo to work in harmony with Dr. Fai.
Meanwhile
Ntumfor exploited last weekend’s conclave to relaunch a new approach to the
fight against corruption and embezzlement of funds. He told participants that
it is a crusade against moral decadence, adding that the society has been
destroyed by sin because we have thrown away the Bible.
In
the resolutions that sanctioned the conclave, the regime was jolted to enshrine
religious knowledge as a primordial prerequisite in the acquisition of jobs.
Expatiating, on this premise, Ntumfor told newsmen that the bible that ought to
be the major document that leads leaders, has suddenly been relegated to the
background.
“We
will send the message to all structures of the nation that “Diplomas” in
religious studies should be the first document to be considered if you want to
access into any public office”, quipped Ntumfor. He added that this would make
Cameroonians conscious of the presence of the Almighty, Jesus Christ in
whatever they are doing. He said it would put checks against our behavious that
has ruined our society and deprived 90% of Cameroonians.
“People
are being appointed into offices who have never understood that the fear of the
Lord is the beginning of wisdom”, Ntumfor reiterated. He said this would be
another contribution in transforming society spiritually, without using arms,
missiles war planes but “to pray and ask the Almighty to cleanse us”.
The
new National Secretary for Men’s works on his part, told newsmen that his new
portfolio was very challenging. He said he had been humbled by the position,
which he said he will put in all his efforts. Prof Anyambod qualified the men’s
wing as one of the wings that has been determined to discard the evils that
plagues on society. He added that the men’s wing was amongst the 3 wings- CYF
and CWF which have shaped and moved PCC beyond the church movement. He said
without them, PCC would become a dead church.
