Some 11 billion FCFA has been voted as budget to run the Upper Noun Valley Development Authority, UNVDA. This will span from 2013 to 2015 under a new ‘Program Budget’ formulae. The amount was adopted by members of the Board of Directors of UNVDA who met at the 43rd ordinary session of the Board in Bamenda last November 24, 2012. Presided at by Tikela Kemonne, the Board Chairman, the session hailed Chin … the General Manager of UNVDA for his foresighted management dynamism.
An official of UNVDA told Chronicle shortly after last week’s board meeting that UNVDA has prepared its farmers to produce more in the next years. He said over some 3000 hectares have been cultivated with production expected at 15.000 tonnes of paddy. That the price of Paddy has been increased from 110 to 120TWA/kg.
Board members hailed President Paul Biya and his government for having placed at the disposal of UNVDA some strategic agricultural equipment and financial assistance to relaunch the sector’s agricultural production. Board members were also clarified about the outcome of the resolutions of the 42nd ordinary session of the board, which held last August 14, 2012. The state of the machines/equipment; intensification of work and rehabilitation of infrastructure; the reinforcement of the capacity of workers through training and seminars.
Though it was principally a budget session after MINFI and MINADER experts had liaised with UNVDA management to elaborate on the program budget 2013-2015 the Board Chairman took advantage to congratulate some new members, taking part in the board meeting for their first time. Tikela Kemonne singled out Nguele Nguele Felix (new SDO for Mezam), Nzeki Theophile (SDO for Bui) and Songa Pierre Rene (SDO for Bamboutous).
