Who Own The SDF National Secretariat

Some five (5) years ago, the head office of the opposition, Social Democratic Front, SDF was located at the former Treasury Street in Bamenda. Even the SDF North West secretariat was along the Bamenda Commercial Avenue. Both were thereon transferred to be located beside the Bamenda congress hall. Was it by accident or a strategy? Following Chronicle’s investigations, SDF is yet to own a building to parade self as its headquarters. At one time, SDF national executive committee, NEC meetings were held at Fru Ndi’s building. Yet, it is not owned by SDF but Fru Ndi. But recently, investigations have been opened as to who owns the SDF secretariat, situated beside the Bamenda congress hall.
Chronicle has been told that the SDF head office is owned by the Azire Cooperative Credit Union League. According to investigations, the deal was reached as a strategy to appease Fru Ndi. Chronicle gathered that the present secretariat was guaranteed by the then SDF district chairman; that as a pivot of Azicul and Camccul, the decision had to be reached for obvious reasons.
Today the top floor of the SDF headquarters structure, situated beside the Bamenda congress hall is rented at 150.000 FCFA per month. Chronicle gathered that 150.000 is chicken feed, given the strategic nature of the office. Accordingly, the SDF headquarters would have been rented for at least a million FCFA per month.
Chronicle gathered that even the deal to secure the edifice was not easy. According to hints, event he 150.000 FCFA accepted to be paid has not been done regularly; that SDF banked on the fact that when it receives subventions, it would initiate payment directly to the credit union account.
Chronicle further learnt that SDF bought the idea of settling beside the congress hall for strategic reasons. Accordingly, being the only party that eyes the CPDM leadership, relocating beside its CPDM party outfit would serve as spy. Implicitly, if the SDF national secretariat operates beside the Bamenda congress hall, it is not by accident.
Chronicle is presently working on a file involving Balick Awah, Judith Anye and Judith Awondo, all of AZUCCUL. (Watch Out for our out coming edition)
