Wimbum Mafia Takes Over CAMASEJ NW

Comfort Musa
Comfort Musa, Martin Fon Yembe and Elvis Dogo Dogo are the new President, Vice and Secretary General of the North West bureau of the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists, CAMASEJ. The trio hail from Donga/Mantung division. Their election had since been qualified by observers as a “Wimbom mafia”.
Comfort Musa ousted Richard Ndeh and Tim Finnian by 24 to 16 and 3 votes, while Yembe and Elvis Dogo Dogo were voted by acclamation. The mafia would have been complete if Jato Richard was elected as Public Relations Officer (PRO). He was edged by Roseline Obah by 17 to 18 votes. Priscillia Agendia of CRTV whitewashed Anyi Collins of Canal 2 to become Treasury; just as Clementine Ambi of Abakwa FM who crushed Eric Akam of Bali Drum for the Financial Secretary portfolio. Emmanuel Fokum of The Enquirer dismissed Emmanuel Nji of Eden to become the Organizing Secretary.
The elections held last Friday August 10, 2012 at CHRAPA, was moderated by Barrister Henry Kemende, a Legal Adviser and Choves Loh, National Vice President of CAMASEJ. It was witnessed by communication bigwigs including Gideon Taka of Hot Cocoa, Chris Mbunwe of The Post, Colday Ndofekeh Olivier of ELECAM.
Comfort Musa’s election placed an end to the mandate of Vitalis Tanteh, which critics styled as insipid. Suspicion that Musa’s mandate may replicate that of Tanteh, given that they operate under same media outfit was gnawed.
Critics pinpoint the fact that her victory was spin-doctored by a clique of her radio SCMS and Wimbum folks. Some observers hinted Chronicle that Richard Ndeh or Tim Finnian would have made up the better option, given that they run media organs based in Bamenda.
Musa however has the onus to convince the nearly 20 members who did not vote her that she can effectively deliver, though her campaign promises were merely as lousy as those of Tanteh, 2 years ago.

  1. Where is the mafia in this article? I do not seem to see any fore-plan by natives of Donga mantung prior to the elections. I think your article is poorly titled. If you say "Comfort Musa ousted Richard Ndeh and Tim Finnian by 24 to 16", it means she rightfully won her post as President; "Yembe and Elvis Dogo Dogo were voted by acclamation" means that the convention actually appreciated their work. Please, can we stop using sensational story titles??? Just a piece of advice.

  2. This is a very stupid article and just the kind of trash that should not be allowed to visit the news-stands or catch the eyes of consumers. I weep each time I come across such sensational captions with no real story. This is not journalism and you must go back to the drawing board. No wonder we hear journalists are in trouble with the police or military because of such things. Shame on you.
